Baltimore has abolished her Board of Fire Commissioners, and will give a Fire Marshal the control of the fire service. At Midland, Mich., the water-works have been completed. The pumps have a capacity of 1,500,000 gallons daily. In the forthedming report of Chief Pearson, of Haverhill, Mass., the purchase of another steam fire engine will be recommended.
