MISCELLANY THE RECENT GREA T FIRES IN LONDON. Captain Shaw, of London, recently sent to Chief Swenie, of Chicago diagrams of the Wood Street and Alhambra Theatre fires in that city, showing the situation of the burned buildings, and how the Fire Brigade was deployed to combat the flames. Chief Swenie has kindly forwarded the diagrams to us, which we find highly interesting, and beg to tender our thanks for the courtesy, accompanying the package was the following letter addressed to Chief Swenie by Captain Shaw : “ At last I send you the maps and details of our two fires, which I think will give you all the information which you would care to have.
