RANDOM SPARKS —Hutchinson, Kansas, is organizing a fire company. —There are 22,000 fire companies and 800,000 firemen in Germany and Austria. —W. W. Alexander, for a number of years Chief of the Fire Department of Richmond, Ill., has tendered his resignation. —Chicago received two new fire engines December 13 from the Ahrens Manufacturing Company of Cincinnati. They are to be assigned to engine-houses Nos. 7 and ta. —The members of Engine Company No. 3, Chicago Department, received from the firm of B. B. & W. N. Eisendrath for their Christmas present a pair ot gloves and mitts for each man of the company. —Michael J. Tobin, the well-known fire marshal of the town of Lake, Cook county, Illinois, died at Thomasville, Ga., December 23, where he was trying to regain his health. His brother, James Tobin, went from Chicago to bring the body home. .—The article in the American papers…
