MEN AND THINGS. The Gleason & Bailey Manufacturing Company (limited), Seneca Falls, N. Y., have arranged with the L. M. Rumsey Manufacturing Company, St. Louis, Mo., to sell their fire apparatus throughout the South and West. Robert Young of Urbana, O., the popular general sales agent of E. B. Preston & Co., the famous fire apparatus manufacturers of Chicago, appeared in Chicago recently looking pretty badly scared. He had just participated in a severe railroad accident, but, fortunately, was not injured beyond a general shaking up. The Matchless Metal Polish Company of Chicago are doing a land office business with their celebrated and really meritorious polish. It is a clean, pure, creamy white paste, warranted free from acids, poisons or grit. It is put up in neat packages, and can be had either in a small box or a tenpound pail full.
