MEN AND THINGS. Baltimore’s new Clapp & Jones steamer has been satisfactorily tested. Seymour, Ind., has improved its fire service by the purchase of an Ahrens engine. Stamford, Conn., has a new hose carriage of the most approved pattern, built by the Gleason & Bailey Manufacturing Company. The Gleason & Bailey Manufacturing Company are building two hose carts, a hook and ladder truck and three hand engines for Manistique, Mich., and Medford, Wis. The Ahrens Manufacturing Company are building steamers for Seymour, Ind. ; Pendleton, Ore., and Dayton, O. They have recently shipped engines to St. Louis, Mo.; Chicago, Ill., and Minneapolis, Minn.
