CITY & VICINITY THE PARADE AND TOURNAMENT AT JAMAICA. On Wednesday Jamaica, L. I., the county seat of Queens county, was the scene of the greatest firemen’s demonstration ever given on Long Island. Twelve hundred firemen from all parts of the island, active volunteers from the different places in Queens and Suffolk counties, one company from Kingston, N. Y., and veterans from Brooklyn and from New York city were present and participated in the festivities of the day. Three times that number of visitors came into town to see Jamaica’s big gala day. The town was gaily decorated with bunting, flowers and evergreens, and the holiday attire donned by every house on Fulton street, the main street of the village, testified to the presence of honored guests.
