CHICAGO UNDERWRITERS AND FUEL PETROLEUM. Following is the report of the committee of the Chicago Fire Underwriters Association on rules for the use of crude petroleum for fuel : Permission may be granted for the use of crude petroleum for fuel in the generation of steam, subject to the following conditions and permits being attached to policies. An additional premium to be charged at the rate of one half of one per cent on the sum insured on all exposed property. Before any such permit shall be granted, a survey of the premises where such fuel may be desired must be made by the Superintendent of Surveys, and his report must show that all the conditions named hereinafter have been complied with, and that from the general condition of the premises and surroundings it would be a suitable place in which to permit the use of such oil as fuel.…
