A Theatre Ordinance for San Francisco. At the next meeting of the Board of Supervisors, says The Pacific Underwriter, the firecracker ordinance presented in the last number of The Underwriter will come up for final passage. There is every probability that it will become a law, and that it will be effective in reducing fire losses next Fourth of July. This disposed of, Fire Commissioner Towe intends turning his attention to the local theatres, and will submit an ordinance modeled after one passed recently in Chicago, requiring the presence on every stage of a competent fireman, who will have complete charge of all extinguishing appliances, and who, in case of a blaze, shall assume control of operations.
