Municipal Record FROM SPECIAL CORRESPONDENCE TO FIRK AND WATER. Incorporation, Population, Water-works, Paving, Sewerage, Street Lighting, Fire Department, Financial Condition and List of Municipal Officers of Cities, Towns and Villages in the United States and Canada. CLINTON, Iowa.—We are indebted to L. F. Sutton, city clerk, for the following information: “This city was incorporated in 1857, and has a population of over 16,000. About a mile of streets are paved with brick and a contract has been made for some paving extensions for 1889. We have no sewerage system, and it is not known when one is likely to be put in. The water-works are owned by a company, which has seventy-five hydrants in use and nine miles of pipe laid. An extension of three miles to the water-works has been proposed for this year.
