MISCELLANY The Baldwinsville Water Supply Question. To the Editor of FIRE AND WATER: In the issue of FIRE AND WATER of November 23 is an item stating that Stephen E. Babcock, C. E., of Little Falls, N. Y., had reported favorably upon obtaining a gravity supply of water from Vedder Hill stream and adjacent springs, and condemning the pumping system, now under construction, supplied from a well and including a stand-pipe, upon the ground of excessive cost, objectionable sanitary features and the larger supply available from the first-named source. Now, as 1 am the engineer in charge of this work, having ‘ designed the work and recommended the system, I ask the privilege of stating a few facts about the works and the system Mr. Babcock recommends. These water-works are being built under the direction of seven water commissioners elected by a majority of the taxpayers of the village. All…
