PUBLIC WORKS —The United States Senate has concurred with the House in passing the Hudson river bridge bill. —Rapid progress is being made in the construction of the new sewerage system at Los Angeles, Cal. —Plans have been ordered prepared for a complete system of sewerage for the city of Hoboken, N. J. —The sewerage committee of the Orange (N. J.) common council has secured the services of F. P. Stearns, chief engineer of the State board of health, Boston, Mass., and Samuel M. Gray of Providence, R. I., as consulting engineers on the plans for the proposed sewerage system submitted by C. P. Bassett of Newark. —Says The Woonsocket (R. I.) Reporter: “ The Lonsdale company, at its own expense, will provide an efficient sewerage system for the village of Lonsdale.
