FIRE DEPARTMENT NEWS —The Massachusetts bill appropriating $10,000 for a fund for the benefit of firemen injured while on duty and the widows and children of those killed has become law. The fund will be in charge of trustees. —The Boston veteran firemen have leased the two upper stories of the three-story building at the corner of Washington and Cobb streets at the South End, and will soon occupy them as their permanent home. —The judges of the Charlestown June 17th tournament made a mistake in figuring up the results of the engine playing, which was not discovered until the day following, and after they had rendered their official decisions in writing, which was done late in the evening of the 17th. The secretary of the judges, in comparing the figures the next day, found that the figures of the New London and Pawtucket associations had got slightly mixed, and…
