THE FIRE ENGINEERS. Eighteenth Annual Convention of the National Association at Detroit. Delegates Present from All Parts of the Country.—The Meeting a Great Success. The eighteenth annual convention of the National Association of Fire Engineers has been held, and the fire fighters have returned to their duties with the feeling that the days spent in the city of Detroit have been decidedly instructive and pleasant, resulting in an increased fraternal feeling among the members of the association. The city certainly played its part in the success of the convention by its unstinted liberality and efforts to make the visit of the engineers one of thorough enjoyment. Fire Commissioner Daniel Scotten was present everywhere dispensing hospitality, and in this he was ably assisted by Chief Engineer James Battle.
