FIRE DEPARTMENT NEWS —A reward of $tooo is offered for the conviction of the incendiary who recently burned a handsome new school-house at Ferndalc, Cal. —Friendship Hose Company No. t of West Hoboken, N. J., is to have a new house on Savage street. —The Exempt Firemen’s Association of Whitcstone, Long Island, has elected the following-named officers: President, F. A. Harris, Sr.; vice-president, Adam Knah; secretary, J. L. Coffin; treasurer, J. A. Martins; sergeant-at-arms, Frede_____ck Grant. —Enterprise Hose Company No. 2 of College Point, Long Island, has decided to disband. —At a recent meeting ot the Newark (N. J.) fire commissioners, Chief Kierstcd stated that a large part of the hose in the department was unfit for use, some of it having been purchased in 1878.
