WATER SUPPLY —A Dallas, Tex., dispatch says: “Mayor Conner and others of the council committee to examine the Memphis water-works have returned with many good words for the Bluff City, The artesian supply system will be adopted here without delay.” —The board of trade of Jersey City, N. J., has been devoting considerable attention again to the question of obtaining a new water supply. A scheme has been prepared for taking a supply from the Ramapo Valley. Companies, known as the Ramapo Water Companies, have been formed in both New York and New Jersey to secure the supplies. —The Belleville (Ill.) city council, last week, revoked the contract between that city and the Belleville Water Company, on account of alleged failure of the company to supply water according to the terms of the contract.
