Plans and specifications were filed in the New York Building Bureau last week for the construction of ninety-eight new buildings at a total estimated cost of $1,771,000 and for alterations to sixty-seven old structures, to cost $145,000. A stock company is reported as being organized in Chattanooga, Tenn., to establish asphalt works at Wauhatchie. William Cummings of Chattanooga can give information. The Smith Mfg. Co., P. P. of 121 and 123 Fulton street, New York, is filling an order for Turner Hose No. 6, Olean. New York, for three trumpets, handsomely engraved, for the officers and a full outfit of shirts for the company. Kalamazoo, Mich., has voted to float $25,000 worth of additional school bonds. The city engineer of Cheyenne, Wyo., has been instructed to prepare plans and specifications for the Thames street viaduct.
