WATER SUPPLY. Geo. H. Pierson, C. E., of Chicago has been named to act for the Municipal Trust Company of London, as arbitrator for it in the valuation of the water-works at Winnipeg, Man. Ira McConnell, receiver of the Crawfordsville (Ind.) waterworks, formally turned the plant over to the Crawfordsville Water and Light Company, March 10. The Fort Madison (la.) Water Company has brought suit against the city for the payment of hydrant rental. The water company at Lawrence, Kan., is making tesls for a water supply from wells. The Topeka (Kan.) Water Company is putting down three miles of 18-inch main, to connect with the new water-works. The new system of twenty-eight 6-inch wells, from which the new water supply is to be taken, are completed. Their capacity is estimated at 10,000,000 gallons daily.
