WATER SUPPLY ITEMS. The hydrant service at Holliston, Mass., has been given a thorough test and has proven satisfactory. The Bedford City (Va.) Land and Improvement Company is reported as negotiating with Burlington (Vt.) parties for the removal of their plant for the manufacture of wood pumps and wood water tubing to Bedford City. A correspondent at Niles, O., writes us: “Plans and specifications for wattr-works and electric light plant are being prepared by J. B. Strawn, civil engineer, of Salem, O. The pumps and the engine to drive the dynamos will be run by one set of boilers. The pumping machinery and the electric machinery will be placed in the same room, and be in charge of one engineer.
