WATER SUPPLY ITEMS. It is reported that contracts have been given for the construction of water-works and the erection of an electric light plant at Aransas Harbor, Tex. Eastern capitalists are said to be trying to buy the Cadillac (Mich.) water-works plant. According to a local paper “the water tower of the Athens (Ga.) City Water-works Company is in a dangerous condition, and the officers of the company have been summoned to appear before the city council and show cause why the standpipe shall not be declared a public nuisance.” C. E. Williams has contracted for the sum of $2600 to furnish Hartley, Tex., with a system of water-works. A force of men are now at work near the water-works at Parsons, Kan., running a drift from a point near the pumphouse, west, under the bed of thd creek, a distance of about 100 feet.
