Brooklyn’s New Fire Department Headquarters. In the course of about a year the officials and clerks of the Brooklyn (N. Y.) Fire Department, with the fire alarm telegraph apparatus, will be housed in a building worthy of the wealth and consequence of the city and the importance of the service. For many years the cramped and antiquated headquarters building in Jay street has been utterly inadequate, as regards space, to the needs of the department, and altogether a disgrace to the City of Churches, but it is now to be demolished and upon its site will arise the handsome structure, a view of which from the architect’s drawings, we are enabled, by courtesy of The Brooklyn Eagle, to show to our readers.
