Vermont State Firemen. The town of Rutland, Vt., was elaborately decorated on Friday and Saturday, July 3 and 4, upon the occasion of the second annual convention of the Vermont State Firemen’s Association, and the hospitality shown by the citizens to the visiting firemen was unbounded. The convention was called to order at 2.30 P. M. Friday by President F. E. Perkins, chief of the Burlington Fire Department, who spoke briefly upon the possibilities of the association in the future. He said that it in a great measure depended upon the interest that the firemen, as a body, took in the association. He expressed a hope that more would join the association and by co-operation make it more successful. The charter of the association was accepted, and the constitution and by-laws of the old association adopted. The treasurer’s report showed a balance on hand of $85.50. K. K. IIannum of…
