WELL DRILLING NOTES. An artesian well is to be sunk at Eddy, Tex. An artesian well will probably be sunk at Milford, Tex. John E. Cassidy has had an artesian well bored on the marsh opposite the Faneuil (Mass.) depot. F. E. Shaw of Providence, R. I., is sinking a new well at the pumping station of the water-works at Waltham. Mass. A South Bend (Ind.) note of July It says: “ The Stephenson Bros, are making all possible speed in sinking artesian wells at the water-works. The first one was finished to-day. It is in the southwest corner of the reservoir. The boring shows that there is a total depth of 105 feet below the bottom of the reservoir, of which 38 feet is clay, 45 feet quicksand and 22 feet of coarse gravel.
