WATER SUPPLY ITEMS. A Melrose (Mass ) note says : “ It was only a few days sine , the water board was criticised for asking the town to get premission from the legislature to issue $50,000 water bonds, and the amount was reduced to $25,000. Since then the town has voted $20,000 of the amount for the land purchase, leaving only $5000 for the ordinary demands for construction. The town will again have to go to the legislature with the same request next year, for bonds for construction and also to refund the $50,000 bonds then falling due.” The Poland & Minot Water and Electric Light and Power Company of Mechanic Falls, Me., has been incorporated ; capital, $25,000.
