Sewerage and Street Paving in Western Cities. A committee of the Boston Board of Aldermen which recently visited a number of western cities to investigate the methods of sewerage and street paving pursued there, as well as to inspect their public works generally, returned East evidently considerably impressed with what they saw, according to The Boston Herald. The committee seems to have started out with the opinion that, while Boston was as near perfection as it were possible for any city in the country to attain, there was an opportunity to learn much from the younger cities which, at this time, are giving particular attention to sewer and street improvements.
