WELL DRILLING NOTES. Appalachicola, Fla., contemplates putting down an artesian well. In connection with the water-works recently voted for at Tuscola, Ill., a well will be sunk. A company is to be organized at Rogers, Tex., to bore for artesian water. There will be a meeting held at Pierre, S. D., to discuss the question of sinking an artesian well. Fowler & Smith have secured the contract for the sinking of three artesian wells at Dallas, Tex. Bryan, Tex., contemplates sinking an artesian well. There will be a number of artesian wells sunk at Miller, S. D. H. M. Tompkins, the contractor, is now at work sinking a well in Gold street, Worcester, Mass. After drivings six-inch pipe into the soil for a depth of 45 feet a ledge was struck, and a hole was drilled into the ledge to a depth of 125 feet, when a limited supply of…
