MISCELLANEOUS. The bid for asphalt paving in Cincinnati has been awarded to the Warren-Scharf Company for $150,000. Charlottesville, Va., will issue $20,000 in bonds for city improvement. An elegant one horse hose carriage is about to be put into the new fire department at West Brooklyn, Blythbourne, N. Y. The carriage is a patented design, with steel frame, built by the Gleason & Bailey Manufacturing Company, of Seneca Falls, N. Y. The interest in the proposed viaduct between East and North Denver, Col., has materially increased. Its estimated cost is computed at $62,224, and of this amount some $60,000 have been raised. “ Daniel Trentworthy, a Tale of the Great Fire in Chicago,” is the title of a story by John McGovern, just published by Rand, McNally & Co. of Chicago and New York.
