WELL DRILLING NOTES. Messrs. Zinkgraf & Eckart, contractors and well diggers, have just completed a well at Spokane, Wash., for Booge & McIntosh in Irving Heights addition at the depth of 450 feet. This is the deepest well ever sunk in this part of the country. The artesian well being bored on the State Hospital grounds, Middletown, N. Y., is a demonstrated success. At a depth of 452 feet, much of the way through rock, water was struck, and upon the steam pump being brought into service the gauge registered a supply about equivalent to 144,000 gallons a day, or sixty gallons per minute, a result conceded to be most satisfactory by the hospital authorities, and altogether up to the expectations of the contractors. The water was, upon test, found to be very slightly impregnated with sulphur, but not sufficiently to militate against its use for either drinking or culinary…
