THE FIRE DEPARTMENTS. Under recent date our correspendent in Ogden, Utah, writes as follows: Last night’s test at the central fire station completed the series of tests. The machine used was the 4 1/2 ton aerial truck, it being the second test for that machine. The hitching time was made on the average about the same as on the previous night’s test, the standing hitch with gates up being made in 4 4-5 seconds. The run to the curb, the men being undressed and in bed, was made in 20 seconds flat. This is probably the fastest hitch and run ever made in the same distance with so heavy a truck. In a few days, when the distances and weights are compared with the record, it will be known just how much the records have been beaten.
