Greeting to Our Friends. IN other columns of this issue of FIRE AND WATER a somewhat detailed account of the history of the paper will be found, and it only remains for the writer of this article, who was the founder of the enterprise, to acknowledge the generous encouragement and support with which the journal has been received from the day of its first publication. Its establishment was attended by difficulties that seemed to be insurmountable, but the founder having put his shoulder to the wheel, there was no turning back, and the enterprise had to go. At the time the paper was established there was no journal in the field devoted to the interests of fire protection.
