THE FIRE DEPARTMENTS. It is quire probable that the Franklin Fire Company will be reinstated and constituted a branch of the Chester (Pa.) Fire Department. It was currently reported that a communication looking to reinstatement would be sent to common council, but a member of the company denies this and says that if any action is taken it will be entirely on the side of council. “ I am not at liberty to say,” he continued, “ what the company may do, but one of two things must be done—either the Franklin will be reinstated or a new company must be organized for the south side of the city. We are getting no appropriation now, but our expenses are running on, rnd as this fire business is settled, there is no profit in continuing the fight.” A new chief will be selected in May, and as that was the bone…
