THE FIRE DEPARTMENTS. Chief Raymer has been again unanimously re-elected chief of the Beaver Falls (Pa.) Fire Department. The president of the council in a neat little speech highly commended him for the efficiency of the department. The chief’s report shows, fires last year, twenty-six; amount lost, $74,050; amount of insurance, $60,350. We acknowledge receipt of a very clever poem from our friend James E. Tyson of Anniston, Ga., on the tragic death of Spalding and Estes at the Harbeck fire in Brooklyn. We hope to be able to make room for the lines shortly. Among the apparatus called by two alarms to put out a fire on Monday night in this city was truck No. 12. The fire was fierce and it became necessary to “open up” the roof, and Assistant Foreman William Reilly and Private Lawrence McGuire and James Kelly No. 2 went on it, not knowing that…
