MISCELLANEOUS. One of the handsomest publications ever sent out by a business house reaches us this week from the Thomson Meter Company of Brooklyn. The embossed cover is a work of art, and represents the very highest degree of the art of embossing. Between the covers is contained a narrative of water meters, new and interesting. The illustrations are superb. S. F. Hayward & Co. of this city have issued a most complete little hand-book of needs for fire departments. Every fireman should send for one. The Smith Manufacturing Company, P. P., of No. 23 Barclay street, New York city, recently delivered the very handsome and striking uniforms, consisting of coat, trousers and cap, made of U.
