Auburn’s Disbanded Force.

Issue 3 and Volume 1893 14.

Auburn’s Disbanded Force. In anticipation of the disbandment of the volunteers of Auburn, N. Y., the firemen have divided the relief fund among their members. The total amount was $7000. At a meeting of the trustees, representing the several companies, it was determined to distribute the funds amung the members of the association and accordingly checks were drawn for $55 each for the members. The action was taken to forestall the expected action of the commissioners in disbanding the volunteer department, which would have put the fund beyond the disposition of the members and would have been within the control of the commissioners.
