Newark’s Remodeled Headquarters. The work of remodeling and improving the fire department headquarters’ building in Newark, N. J., which has been in progress for several months past, is about completed, and now the heads of the various departments of the fire service have one of the best arranged and most convenient sets of offices to be found in any fire department in the country. On the second story is the business office of the superintendent and the chief engineer, a large, well lighted and cheerful room finished in yellow pine, with cherry trimmings. Beyond this room is the private office of the superintendent, which is very handsomely furnished, and on this floor are also a storage room and a toilet room.
