Pacific Coast and Canadian News. (From Our Regular Correspondent.) At a meeting of the San Francisco fire commissioners an opinion was read from City and County Attorney Creswell that there was nothing to prevent the board from imposing fines upon members of the department for violation of the rules, and a motion of Commissioner Ames was carried that the rules should be amended by giving the board the power to punish by either fine, suspension or dismissal, and that any fine should be retained from the monthly warrant of the offender and retained in the general fund. Aldermen Peter Steep and Peter Graham, who were suspended from the city council of Spokane, Wash., several days ago on charges of bribery, were cited to appear before the council and answer the charges.
