WELLS Lew De Haven, Bluffton, Ind., writes that five more wells will be drilled for the city water service. President D. S. Morrison, of Grinnell, Ia., writes FIRE AND WATER: “During the year we put in a well 2,002 1-2 feet deep, which has been tested to 200,000 gallons a day. It is pumped from a depth of 200 feet. We have a Knowles pump 12×36 cylinder, located 400 feet below the surface. We will build a system of water-works in the spring, Augusta and Schoolcraft, Mich., are talking about putting in a system of nest wells for fire protection, and have written and sent parties to Vicksburg to obtain information as to their cost, etc.
