The “Trident” Water Meter. THE Neptune Meter Company, 29 Broadway, New York City, has recently brought out a new disk meter called the “Trident,” designed by John Thomson, M. Am. Soc. C. E., and illustrated in the accompanying cuts. It may be stated, by the way, that Mr. Thomson was the designer and patentee of the original disk meter in this country, now commercially known by his name, and also that he has entirely sold out his interest therein, believing that the improvements embodied in the Trident ensure a still wider field of adoption. It will be seen in Kig. 1, that the bottom cap of the meter is held in p tsition by means of a mutilated ratchet thread screw.
