BAY STATE FIREMEN. A Large Gathering of Massachusett Men—An Exceptional Programme Made Up Entirely of Business. ( Special to KIRK AND WATER). Cottage City is alive with firemen to-day, it being the opening day of the Massachusetts State Firemen’s Association. It is a dignified set of men, seemingly intent on business. I have only time to outline the programme at this writing as the mails are not as frequent as in New York City. The convention will be called to order by President Marchant at 2 P. M. to day after which will come the approval of the credential committee, An introductory address by President Marchant and routine work will follow, after which there will be an address on “ The Call Firemen,” by C. J. H. Totman of Quincy. Then there will follow an address on “ Methods of retaining Interest and Enthusiasm of Firemen in Cities and Towns…
