Oregon and Washington Volunteers. The annual session of the Oregon and Washington Volunteer Firemen’s Association, convened September 4, at Oregon City, Ore., with President Joyce in the chair. A resolution was adopted to admit all ex-chiefs and chiefs of departments to membership in the association upon payment of a fee of $5. Treasurer Maier submitted his report, showing the receipts for the year to have been $60; balance on hand, $43.80. The contest for the next annual meeting was between Vancouver and Astoria, the former place being chosen by a vote of 26 to 19. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year : President, J. W. O’Connell, of Oregon City ; vice-president, W. II.
