MASSACHUSETTS A Large Convention at Cottage City and Lots of Business Transacted—Chief L. P. Webber is Made President—Proceedings of the Convention. When I wrote you last week from here the convention had scarcely opened, but I predicted a business meeting, and I made no mistake. When Chief C. S. Marchant, president of the Association, called the meeting to order there were over 250 firemen in Union Chapel. As soon as the Credentials Committee had been appointed, the local Chief, Walter Howland, approached the front of the platform, and in a few remarks welcomed the delegates.
