WELLS D. L. Barker has recently completed wells as follows: For Mrs. E. S. Rugg, of Sterling, Mass., a 6-inch well, 111 feet deep, yielding six gallons of water per minute; for Henry Bull, of Newport. R. I., a 6-inch well, yielding 12 gallons of water per minute; four wells in Moosup, Conn., all of which were successful; eight in and Swansea, Mass., which were satisfactory in every case; two wells at the Silver Spring Bleachery, both of which are 179 feet deep, one yielding 150 gallons of water per minute and the other yielding 90 gallons per minute. It is said that $3,000 will be expended in Greenfield, Mo., in sinking deep wells. Reports from Marcellus, Mich., state that the supply of the new waterworks has proved deficient and that it will be necessary to sink nine additional wells. H. U.
