Can’t Get on Without it. To the Editor: I was a subscriber to FIRE AND WATER for three years, but during a prolonged illness, one year ago, I resigned my position as chief and stopped the paper. The council does not see fit to let me go, so I find it of little use trying to be a live chief, even in a town of this size, without FIRE AND WATER. A few months ago this town passed a by-law to raise by debenture $25,000 of which sum $19,000 is to be expended on a new town hall and fire hall combined. The remaining $6,000 will go to purchase improved fire appliances. I will give you further particulars later on.
