SEWERAGE The pumping station for the sewerage plant at Ithaca, N. Y., will be erected at the corner of Franklin and First streets. Plans and specifications are being prepared for the main sewers and outfall. The commission has not yet decided upon the selection of supervising engineer for the work. Covington, Ky., has been fined $4,000 for permitting defective sewers. Manchester, Va., will have a sewer system immediately. Here’s what the Des Moines, Iowa, Register says: One of the things which the next member of the legislature from this county, and who goes as the particular representative of the city, should do, is to get a law through which would allow the construction of a sewer through private property without having to pay damages and for the sewer both.
