MICHIGAN STATE FIREMENS’ ASSOCIATION. (SPECIALLY REPORTED FOR FIRE AND WATER.) The annual convention of the Michigan State Firemen’s Association was held this year at Traverse City. The president, Chief James Murphy of Lapeer, called the convention to order in the City Opera House. President of the city council, Perry Hannah, welcomed the firemen in a happy speech to which President Murphy appropriately responded, after which the annual address was delivered. The president paid a touching tribute to the fidelity and work of W. H. Fuller, who has served the association for ten years as secretary and is now compelled by ill health to resign. • A committee was appointed to procure a goldheaded cane to be presented to Secretary Fuller as a mark of the association’s appreciation of his services.
