OAKLAND’S STORM SEWER. A San Francisco paper says: Estimates are being prepared in the office of the city engineer for a storm sewer which it is proposed to construct along the northern boundary line of the city, west of Telegraph avenue, Oakland, Cal., to relieve that section immediately south for many blocks of the great overflows which are of annual occurrence during the rainy seasons. The council has called for the figures as to the cost of the work, and Engineer Wilson has them ready to submit through the board of public works to the council. The demand for the sewer as an outlet for the great sweep of water that has deluged the country from the city limits to Grove and other streets has been recognized for years, but the council has not felt that it was in a position to order the work, because of the .expense entailed.…
