FIRE MARSHAL HOLLISTER. The board of fire commission ers have appointed both a fire marshal and a deputy fire marshal, and made other changes which will altogather transform the personnel of the former fire marshal’s office. Tlie gentlemen appointed arc Mar tin Luther Hollister, a lawyer, of 249 West Fifty-fifth street and 206 Broadway, fire marshal, and Michael O’Sullivan, lawyer, associated with Hoadly, Lauterbach & Johnson, of 22 William street and 48 Dominick street. The salary attached to the offices is $3,000 and $2,000 respectively. Fire Marshal Hollister was born in Coxsackie N.Y., on August 2, 1839. He attended the Fort Plain Seminary and Clavernack College. He studied law in the office of the late firm of Beach & Smith at Troy and also at the Albany school, where Commissioner La Grange was his classmate.
