SEWERAGE Pittsburg, Pa, will soon have another big sewer which will drain the territory of Oakland. Bellefleld, and the Squirrel Hill district in the East End, and will complete the main sewerage system of the city at a cost of $500,900. Operations have bean begun on the new drainage canal in Portland, Ill., which is to be eight miles long and seventeen feet wide, with two lateral canals. It will cost $16,000 tnd reclaim over 7,000 acres of swamp lands. A relief sewer will be built at Brooklyn to relieve the sewers in Knickerbocker, Wyckoff, and Morgan avenues.
