OUR BOSTON LETTER, (Special Correspondence of FIRE AND WATER.) Boston, Aug. 18, 1895. At every national convention of chief engineers, or other large gatherings of firemen from different parts of the country, among the men most inquired about are ExChief and Ex-Commissioner William A. Green, and ExChief John S. Damrell. The last national convention, at Montreal, was fortunate in the attendance of both these gentlemen, but it had been years before that since either had put in an appearance at one of these meetings. William A. Green, retired from the Boston fire department a little over eight years ago, after having been an important factor in it, in various relations, for about forty years.
