FIRE PATROL ASSOCIATION. THE National Association of Superintendents and Captains, of Fire Patrols and Salvage Corps, held their annuul meeting in the rooms of the Young Men’s Business League at Augusta, Ga., Tuesday, October 8, 1895. On account of the unavoidable absence of President S. S. Abbot, Jr., Mr. H. R. Williamson,of Worcester, Mass., was made chairman of the meeting. Among the papers read was one by Chas. H. Swan, of Providence, R. I., bearing on the question, “Should fire patrols be maintained by cities and towns, or by insurance companies, or both,” as follows: Mr. President and Gentlemen: The topic assigned tome. “Should fire patrols be maintained by cities and towns, or by insurance companies, or both,” admits of good argument on all sides of the question.
