SCHENECTADY WATER WORKS. The new pumping station which will be erected in Rotterdam for the Schenectady, N. Y., water works, of which an illustration is given in this impression, will be of Romanesque design and built of red brick, with trimmings of Masssachusctts Long Meadow brownstone, the roof of blue slate, and the cresting and ornamental designs of terra cotta. There will be a smoke stack 125 feet high with a 4 foot flue. The pumping station is to be located about 100 feet back from the river road and the collecting gallery, completely covered, is between it and the highway. In the river directly opposite across the canal is an intake which will be used in case the supply in the col* lecting gallery becomes exhausted.
